NAGLFAR Cancels GATES OF METALBÅTEN Appearance
April 1, 2007Swedish black metallers NAGLFAR have canceled their previously announced appearance at the Gates of Metalbåten festivail "due to unforeseen events." "Our apologies goes out to anyone who might be affected by this," the band writes on its web site.
Gates of Metalbåten festival is scheduled to take place April 26-27 on the Silja Festival ferry (which traffics the Baltic Sea between Stockholm, Sweden and Turku, Finland). Confirmed bands for the event include EVERGREY, DARK FUNERAL, NOCTURNAL RITES, MANTICORA, SISTER SIN, SPARZANZA and W.A.S.P.
NAGLFAR's new album, "Harvest", was released in February through Century Media Records. According to a press release, "Harvest" combines NAGLFAR's "original sound with the massive thrust of later years. True to the Swedish formula of bringing the harsh bleakness of the black style together with the technical prowess and high-speed assault of death metal, NAGLFAR have created another masterpiece of their genre." A limited-edition version of the album containing a bonus DVD (featuring four professionally recorded live clips from the Party.San Open Air festival 2006, the video for the track "The Perpetual Horrors" as well as an interview with lead singer Kristoffer Olivius) is also avaialble. The cover artwork was created by Travis Smith. A video for the track "The Darkest Road" was filmed by Roger Johansson (ARCH ENEMY, THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY).
